• The influence of ASR on aggregate interlock was investigated with push-off tests. not found to reduce affected concrete. Aggregate concrete relies the stresses at a crack and its width. Vecchio Collins’ model can predict Alkali-silica reaction (ASR) is one most damaging mechanisms affecting structures worldwide. effects durability serviceability damaged are widely known fairly well understood. However, structural implications still unclear, number contradictory data in literature, especially regarding shear behavior. distressed reinforced presented this paper. Push-off specimens having different transverse reinforcement ratios were fabricated reactive coarse aggregates. monitored over time displayed levels expansion. Results indicated that ASR-induced expansion damage by ratio. little no reduction observed ASR-affected up moderate (about 0.12%). It there two controlling competing for specimens: beneficial chemical prestressing detrimental damage.
